For generations, the members of the ensemble have been protecting and preserving the movements of traditional dances from all around the country and from over the borders as well. They learn to move, remember and as if it was a costume, to wear our heritage.
"We stand on each other’s shoulders, and this twisted order is because we know, that without them, our ancestors, we couldn’t be here today. And that is what our performance is about, it is a salute for the past generations as this timeline is really about them as well.”
The Zala Dance Ensemble was founded in 1957, and since they have become one of the most successful amateur dance groups at the Zalaegerszeg, Zala county region and the West Transdanubia events. The ensemble and their leaders work to study and to preserve the folk culture of the Carpathian Basin.
