The Grass Mountain Folk Orchestra was established in 1992, their main goal is to preserve, research and develop the traditional Chinese folk arts.
The group was named after the mountain nearby Taipei. They have successfully performed at the stage of the National Concert Hall, besides many tours at Taiwanese cultural centres. By present time they have had more than 900 performances.
The orchestra performed in France for the first time in Europe with PhD Huang Tsun-Shin, cooperating with the Hua Gang dance group. Following the local and European performances in Greece, France, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Spain, Bolivia, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Austria they had many others across Asia, in Thailand, Hong Kong and also Egypt. More than 46 times, the orchestra has been invited to attend overseas performances. From 1999 to 2016, the Orchestra was nominated as the country's most outstanding performing team by the Ministry of Culture five times.
