Ensemble “Odessos” was created in 1953 by singers, musicians and dancers to the House of Culture of the Ministry of Interior Varna.

Over the years, the ensemble has been preserved and developed the Bulgarian folklore. In its schools and formations through the years he passed many artists.
Today, the dancers are employees, children of ex-dancers and students from the city. The Ensemble has won numerous awards at home and abroad. It is gold medal winner from national and international festivals. One of the first is the Award of the City Council Montrejeau, France. In Geneva, Switzerland, the Ensemble took first place and gets honorary key of the city. The numerous awards that Ensemble own can’t be compared with the most important award – the Order of Cyril and Methodius, second degree of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Artistic director of the ensemble were awarded with the prize “Contribution to the preservation of Bulgarian folklore” and others. The repertoire of the ensemble is set by songs and dances from all folklore regions of Bulgaria, created by some of most popular artistic directors in Bulgarian folklore. Now, participants numbered 42 people, including 32 dancers, 8 musicians, 4 singers and choreographer. Ensemble “Odessos” is a member of CIOFF. After the last review of the chambers, the Ensemble received the prestigious award “Representative Ensemble of CIOFF Bulgaria”. Program that represents the overall diversity of the Bulgarian folklore is evaluated by leading experts of Bulgarian folklore.
At participations abroad, CIOFF recommends it as a composition worthy to represent Bulgaria and Bulgarian folklore in all its diversity. The Ensemble has many appearances in international festivals in Hungary, Greece, Turkey, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, USA, France, Austria, Russia, Romania, Poland, Harvatia, Monte negro and others.
