The ELTE SEK Szökős Folk Dance Ensemble in Szombathely has been a defining folk art workshop in Vas County since its establishment in 1988.

The main goal of its members is to experience and demonstrate the timeless values ??of our folklore heritage and the power that animates communities by authentically interpreting the traditions of the Hungarians of the Carpathian Basin. The group, among numerous professional recognitions and choreographic awards, has won the “Excellent Ensemble” qualification of the Martin György Folk Dance Association, the “Vas County Value Award”, and the “Pesovár Ern? Memorial Plaque” of the West Hungarian Folk Dance Association – and has taken the good name of Hungarian culture beyond the domestic stages to thirteen European countries.

The Szök?s will enrich the program of the International Folklore Days with their most beloved Transylvanian dances – from the Küküll? region, Mez?ség and Kalotaszeg.
