The Csango folkdance group from Faraoani bring their local culture, folklore and folk dance to Sárvár.
The Tavaszi Szél Traditionalist Folkdance group from Faraoani was established by the Phoenix Cultural Association in 1999. Their main goal is to preserve and widely distribute local cultural values even beyond national borders. The group mainly consists of adults, however since 2003, when the Association overtake the Csango’s Hungarian education, they manage a children’s dance group as well. The group regularly participates in local cultural venues and in the cultural life of the Carpathian Basin alike.
They have had several performance for instance at the Csango Festival in Jászberény, the Csango Ball, in Moldavia, the Carpathian Basin, Upper Hungary and Austria as well.
One of their characteristic dances they bring to Sárvár is called Guzsalyos, which is a one and a half hour long performance depicting winter folk tradition. The colourful show includes storytelling, round dances and pas.
