The group is two different young folklore groups combined from the region of Hohenlohe and Sontheim an der Brenz. Together they have decided to travel to a festival and create an interesting programme presenting the typical folklore of Baden-Württemberg.

German folkdance is often slow with Polkas and Walz but the group Jugendvolkstanzgruppe aus Hohenlohe und Sontheim an der Brenz will show in their program, that Germans can dance fast and quickly as well.

They represent Hohenlohe and Sontheim an der Brenz by showing their southern German folklore by dancing and singing, as well as their typical dresses and costumes. Their costumes introduce the clothing of protestant areas in Baden-Württemberg in the late 19th and early 20th century. A special feature of the Hohenlohe costume is the bis white head which shows that the woman wearing it is unmarried. A special feature of Sontheim an der Brenz area is the beautiful and colourful wedding costume with the red skirt. The clothes and heads are all handmade. During their performance they will present different round dances and also dances for only a few dancers.

One dance, the “Hammerschmiedsgselln” will only be danced by men. The “Webertanz” represents a loom, where every part of the dance represents a part of the production of material with the loom.
