The first official performance of the group from the Italian seaside town of Termoli was in 1977, the city’s council room.
In the early days, they mainly performed folk theatre scenes, and later on after 1981, they took on the name A Schaffétte and started to focus on folklore and folk dancing as well. The compilation of their choreographies is preceded by thorough research work. The name of the group refers to fishing, and their dances also show the motifs of the craft.
